Music Video Reflection
1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?
This is a pop video where the conventions are bright colors, characters having fun, and money. This genre is most common amongst teens and young adults. Therefore, the song is representing the female point of view on relationship issues. Sure amy! Instead of challenging the convention in Pop, I imbedded heir acts into the video for must exciting days.
2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?
My final music video is very engaging and would be popular amongst youth and young adults that both listen/watch it. The strong correlation of my video and videos out by real artists prevail in similarity. I was sure to add direct looks into the camera and fun scenes. Their interest will also peak once the video starts transitioning more and switching scenes.
3. How did your production skills develop throughout this project?
Throughout the project, I realized that finding a common theme was crucial to the success of the video. I had to direct each character and I feel like my skills in that are also improving, helping my ideas translate and be grasped by them. I had to be more critical on the selections in order to have a cohesive video. The outfits, contrasting lighting and all had to link or at least use a uniform transition.
4. How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware and online – in this project?
In this project, I mainly used iMovie for the tasks of facilitating and ordering all clips into the music video This was always pretty easy and is an easy way to burn smores. Next, I used the lomotif app on mobile to make fast collages of pictures and videos. I used PicsArt for minor reasons like needing to chose an entire theme and switch background shades.
