Sunglass Hut Commercial Reflection

 1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?

This commercial definitely included known conventions of sunglass commercials. They focus on incorporating a range of people with different styles. Are prone to giving viewers a view of the range of glasses. And primarily aim towards consumers ages 18-32. To appeal to the target age group, they incorporate people of that range.

 2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?

Throughout the commercial I gave many selections of glasses and their styles.  The audience will be engaged by looking through the collections to pick out what their interested in and see what the brand has to offer. This commercial is 30 seconds which is the standard for many platforms. The commercial can be used during TV commercials, YouTube ads, and even TikTok.

3. How did your production skills develop throughout this project?

Through this project, I was able to build creativity for better production. I had a vision with this project and I made sure I got plenty of film and shots in order to produce something of high quality. When editing, I developed a key skill of how to order the different scenes to have a complete film. I was constantly switching things around because it didn't feel like it flowed correctly, didn't connect, and didn't feel complete. Once I got it to an order that felt perfect, you could easily see a storyline and strong correlation.

4. How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware and online – in this project?

The main apps I used for this project was Lomotif, iMovie, and PicsArt. I filmed with my Iphone 8+ using the regular camera and incorporated the slow motion iPhone feature on certain scenes. I used lomotif to create the slideshows and sped them up to have a lightswitch effect. I did this multiple times and it really played a key role in this production. iMovie was used to put the entire commercial together and providing transitions to different scenes. I added the scenes, audio for he film, and used some of iMovie's features to create the film. PicsArt was used for the hastag overdrive and helped me edit and build the combined look.
