Genre Research: Hidden Figures 2016
Hidden Figures is a blast from the past to present a monumental moment in history for women, The women in this movie were hidden figures to a global phenomenon. Three intellectual African-American women working at NASA were the brains behind the operation of launching astronaut, John Glenn, into orbit. This gave the nation confidence and boosted the competitive spirit in the Space race. The women's names are Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Mary Jackson.
This plot addresses social issues, and challenged the stereotypes that were placed against women. This allowed it to have an emotional stronghold and really engage with the audience. This movie was based on a true story, and its reality couldn't be more relevant in the world today. In my film, I want to include some traits, events, and characteristics that are surely relatable to the audience. Whether it'll empower or thrill a person, the connection with the audience is what I'll aim for.
