Final Task: Filming over Spring Break & more planning

As previously planned! I was able to film over spring break. Not as much as I wanted to but I still feel like everything is on track so far. Over spring break, I got to film the shots of the car driving on Las O Las Blvd and going up onto the highway, as well as driving on the highway. I took these to show and exaggerate the mileage that the characters in the film are traveling and highlight a new destination. I filmed those during the day but I think I’d rather use night clips for those scenes or incorporate both. So it’s definitely a plan of mine to go back and refill those. I filmed from a low and high angle giving different views of the car. I got an idea while doing so that the characters in that scene will switch cars and go into a new one to blend in or just change identities again.

On the contrary, I still haven’t been able to get the actors all together at once to do the needed scenes. One of them needed transportation to the site, another had to work, and another was out of town. Everyone’s schedule is so busy but I might have to change around more of the initial plans to accommodate them, me, and the film. I might’ve been able to do one scene alone but it just didn’t have the same effect. I might also try filming each person alone and just have them say their dialogue and make it a flip screen to show that the conversations are happening in the film. If this doesn’t work, then I’ll have to use different people that are actually available. No issues but I’m just really eager to get everything on the road.

A past concern of mine was that everything I planned and had in the storyboard is too much for just 2 minutes. As I was filming, I still had that in mind so I’m making everything wholesome in order to just edit where the movie intro lands. I’ll be filming sometime this week, most likely Friday since there is no school and I’ll try to film throughout the week as well.
